Sydney, I would think not because of that small chance of becoming pregnant while on your period. You never know, after all, as they liked to drum into our heads in sex ed at my high school, just when you might ovulate because a woman's body is a strange and mysterious thing which no human creature may wot of.

(Never mind that partying too hard while on one's period can become supremely irritating because alcohol thins the blood.)

What I wonder, though, is, since, being only twenty-three years old and in a somewhat new (but intensely committed) relationship, I'm not certain whether I'll decide to have children one day (while currently being deeply opposed to the idea, I recognise that I have been opposed to other ideas in the past--monogamy, for example--and changed my mind), do I still have to act as though I'm "pre-pregnant", even though if I were to become pregnant at any time in the forseeable future I would choose to have an abortion?

Sydney:

I guess so - but not when you're just using contraception. Think of it as the rhythm method for letting it all hang out.

Does this mean you can party when you're on your period? Just curious.
